Where we are
Located on the edge of the small country town of Murwillumbah, our stables are just 20 minutes from Coolangatta airport and 40 minutes from Broadbeach. The Tweed River Jockey Club is less than 400 metres away, which gives us a 1600m course proper for gallops, along with a sand track, an inside grass track, and a trot and canter track.
Safe and secure
The stable is on private property behind electronically controlled gates, well fenced and secured by cameras 24 hours a day, for the safety and wellbeing of both our clients' horses and our staff on site. It contains 80 boxes, including a number of walk-in walk-out boxes with yards for the horses that do better in that environment.
Facilities
This is complemented by a 70 metre straight swim and an arena where horses can do dressage or jumping, both of which encourage them to concentrate on their movement, and offer a change from the routine of the track each morning. Our treadmill is another valuable part of the setup, letting us work horses without the weight of a rider on their back. They can also work on an incline, which reduces the load on the front legs and lets us control how much a horse does.
The beach
Our location also puts us a 15 minute drive from a beautiful long surf beach, almost completely empty at 6am when we arrive with the horses. We go on at the northern end of Cabarita and walk off to the north towards Kingscliff. It's mostly slow work up the beach and a walk back through the surf, not hard work, but focused on recovery, de-stressing, and letting the horses do a little work while enjoying the sand and salt water. It's a valuable addition to what we can offer to give your horse the best result.
